2022 Elio Altare Dolcetto D'Alba DOC

The Altare family was originally from Dogliani, a town neighbouring to where the estate lies today. Back then, the estate was covered in trees of peach, hazelnut and apple, along with some nebbiolo, barbera and dolcetto vineyards.Those were times when orchards gave higher yields and more profits than vineyards. Elio, ever the emulous son, made many efforts, arguing for better quality and earnest wine making. Being from an older generation and poorer times, the father was unable to understand what he thought was an offense against common sense and tradition, and due to their differing opinions, the relationship eventually fell into silence. He died in 1985 and tragically, disinherited Elio. Elio has since managed to continue his work by buying back the winery and vineyards from his siblings
