The Producer

Fontbonau is derived from the Font, for Fountain, Bon, meaning Good and Eau, as in Water; so, the Fountain of Good Water. This is a super Cotes du Rhone established in a select plot of land on the edge of Chateauneuf du Pape, planted mostly to 70 year old Grenache vines and 30 year old Syrah vines. The Estate is owned by Frederic Engerer who as President of Chateau Latour for the last 15 years has driven the wine towards Perfection. He was also responsible for acquiring for the Chatea Latour Group, two great parcels in Vosne Romanee which are now actualized under Domaine d’Eugenie and Chateau Grillet
