2010 Chatau Grand-Pontet, St. Emilion Grand Cru

2011 saw Domaine Clarence Dillion acquire two excellent Saint Emilion properties and merge them Chateau Quintus was born was aptly named to indicate the Fifth Grand Vin in their possession after Chateaux Haut Brion, La Mission Haut Brion, Haut Brion Blanc, La Mission Haut Brion Blanc. Prince Robert de Luxembourg’s striving to establish Chateau Quintus in the mould of his other great wines and at the level of the other great wines of Saint Emilion, resulted in a huge selection of what went into the grand vin the outcome was a third wine in Saint Emilion de Quintus, which delivers a disproportionately high quality for its price and serves as a grand introduction to what can be expected from the Grand Vin Château Quitus. More recently in 2021 they acquired another St-Emilion Grand Cru Classé property, Chateau Grand Pontet; with the objective of adding even greater complexity and a marketable size, to Château Quintus. Residual stocks of great vintages were made available to us, before this wine disappears from the market!
