Tenuta di Biserno Il Pino di Biserno 2006

The 2006 Il Pino di Biserno opens with warm, expansive aromas of mocha, minerals and toasted oak that meld seamlessly into a core of ripe, dark fruit. This is a restrained style for Maremma, yet here, too, the wine’s balance is superb. With time in the glass, the wine comes together even more, hinting at its ultimate potential. Il Pino di Biserno is 35% Cabernet Franc, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot that spent 12 months in French oak. In just its third vintage, Il Pino di Biserno already shows much promise. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2024.

  • The brothers Antinori, the legendary Piero Antinori and Ludovic Antinori, who were estranged in 1980’s; have come together in their swan song, for one last innings, to establish TENUTA DI BISERNO.
  • The winery is established in a clearing in the woods in the tiny village of Bibbona, surrounded by 400 hectares of protected forests just 8 km outside Bolgheri.
  • The viticulturist from Ornellaia, followed Ludovic to Biserno.
Il Pino di Biserno or the Pines of Biserno is the 2nd wine of Biserno and is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot; a rich and luscious effort that belies its title of 2nd wine.
