• Le Pauillac de Chateau Latour has been around since the 1973 vintage and is made from the declassified juice from Chateau Latour and Les Forts de Latour vats. Its production is very limited – between 4-5,000 cases per annum – and its sale was restricted through only two negociants. So its not so widely available.
• Frederic Engerer’s ever striving for perfection in Latour, has resulted in stricter selection of the Grand Vin; consequently increasing a little the availability of the Pauillac de Latour at the cost of Latour but simultaneously with the impact of great improvement in the quality of Pauillac de Latour!
• He has also applied a different way of selling the wine. It is not released En Primeur, rather when they think each vintage starts to be approachable and then only selectively through exclusivity in each country.
