The family, of British and Portuguese descent, have lived in Portugal since the 19th century. Now in its fourth and fifth generations, their reputation is built on a producing exceptional Ports and Douro wines. They own and operate four of the leading Port houses, Graham’s, Dow’s, Warre’s, and Cockburn’s, as well as a distinguished portfolio of Douro wines, including but not limited to, Altano and Prats & Symington, the same joint venture previously responsible for Chryseia. Their most recent venture, Quinta da Fonte Souto, is located in the Alto Alentejo sub-region of Portalegre. All vineyards are managed under a strict minimum intervention policy, with 112 hectares certified organic, making it the largest area of organic vineyard in northern Portugal
