Formerly Araujo Estate, this site is among Napa Valley’s greatest terroirs. The first single-vineyard Eisele Cabernet was made by Paul Draper in 1971, followed by the legendary 1974 bottling (the wine was purchased at a bankruptcy sale and bottled by Conn Creek). Joseph Phelps, purchased the grapes to craft iconic Eisele wines in the 70’s, beginning with the 1975, 1976, and 1978 vintages, all of which are still vibrant to this day. When the Araujo’s took over once again, the wines they produced evenly matched the quality of any first-growth. It is no coincidence that the Eisele Vineyard is today, owned by a first-growth proprietor from France, François Pinault, of Château Latour in Bordeaux and other significant estates in France
