The founder, Giulio Cocchi created this eponymous vermouth label in 1891, blending high quality moscato wine, the region has long been famed for with a combination of local ingredients, the exact components of which are a closely guarded secret to this day. Today, this century-old technical expertise and passionate creativity has been carried forward by the Bava family. Cocchi Americano is a combination of a wine plus and small quantity of alcohol bittered (“amaricato”) by the infusion of precious herbs and spices. white wine, sugar, herbs and spices infusion in alcohol and in particular gentian flowers and leaves, Artemisia, Cinchona, bitter orange peel, elderflower and others. To produce Cocchi Americano, white wine is aromatized with the extracts obtained through a cold infusion in alcohol, then refined for balancing the spice's aromas and tastes.

This Vermouth produces a deep Amber tone, brought about by the addition of sugar browned by fire and herbs such as cinchona and rhubarb, giving not only colour but also a special note to the taste, a crunch like cotton candy that is able to round all the bitter tastes without using vanilla. A thrilling vermouth, rich in sensation. Herbs and aromatizing spices, Artemisia and citrus provide a balance of bitter and citrusy notes which characterize Cocchi's iconic style. The infusion of some noble and balsamic woods,give light aromas of camphor and rosemary notes and a rich taste with vibrant notes of cocoa and bitter orange. Among the minor ingredients are, sandal, musk, myrrh and nutmeg which contribute to its unique perfume.
